Brainwash

This was my submission for the cover of a new film-based zine by a collective of creatives called Brainwash. The theme of the first issue is based on the David Cronemberg 80s sci-fi/horror flick called Videodrome (featuring a very sultry Debbie Harry). The brief was to create a cover under the title: 'DEATH TO VIDEODROME. LONG LIVE THE NEW FLESH' as uttered by the film's lead character Max Renn who finds his flesh morphing and warping into some human/technology hybrid.
My idea was to recreate the scene where Max Renn commits suicide using his morphed hand/gun, but replacing his gun with a super8 camera.I wanted to keep it quite lo-fi and a bit cheesey, as a tribute to 80s gore and also just to keep it simple. Should have used more fake flesh though!
