Fire in the Sky

Rush rush to the park, buzz building, people streaming in the same direction, cans in carrier bags & kids on shoulders, hurry on up c'mon don't miss it, wet grass & leaves underfoot, to stand & watch the fire in the sky, Heroes blasting, the guns shot above our heads, excited like a kid, like a catherine wheel ready to burst.

Borderlands

Some more photos taken for the photography course mentioned in the previous post. Not sure if the back-story/inspiration adds or takes away from the photos but here goes. In these images I wanted to create an atmosphere reminiscent of Roswell Angier who spent time photographing American border-towns, documenting the seedy under-belly of places made to be passed through.

The images are intentionally dark & grainy, the point was not to give a lot of information but to create a similar feeling to what draws me to Angier's photos.

This blog has been pretty quiet recently but that's no reflection on the shutter finger clicking away as always.

Nearly finished with a short photography course at Create Studios in Brighton - really interesting course which has made me think a lot about the photos I take and how to improve on what I do.
